Lay Away Terms and Conditions -- The fine print
Depending on the price of an item ($80 or more), lay away may be available and I am willing to be flexible, however, here are some business terms you should know about before you consider lay away.
I do not accept eChecks when posting sales off of DoA, BK, PP, or DM.
I do accept credit card payments and instant payments via Paypal.
Important info: If you do layaway through Paypal, you are not covered under their buyer protection plan.
1. Depending on the price of the item -- a non-refundable deposit determined by me shall be paid by the buyer. The deposit will be no more than 30% of the item plus a $2.00 fee. You will receive an invoice for this amount to be paid within a few days to start your lay away.
2. The remaining amount owed (includes item and shipping) will be divided over the set amount of time (start date to finish date). I allow a generous 6-8 weeks for full payment depending on the price and possibly your circumstances.
3. There will be firm established payment dates and an invoice sent from PayPal a day or two before the set payment is due. Failure to make a payment on a due date by midnight means you lose your deposit and I have the right to re-list the item. You will be informed of this decision.
4. Shipping insurance is the responsibility of the buyer and the buyer must ask for this so it will be included in the last payment due.
5. If you have paid your non-refundable deposit, and have made one (or more) payment/s and then decide to cancel the sale, you will receive back your payments but not your non-refundable deposit.
6. If you desire to pay off your lay away before the final payment due date, please let me know with a final payment date, I will invoice you for the amount to be paid with the date requested.
7. When all payments have been received and cleared, your item will be shipped next available business day.
8. Anything listed on eBay or my shop is exempt from lay away terms and conditions.
